INTEGRITY ICON WINNERS HAVE BEEN PROMOTED TO MINISTERIAL POSITIONS IN MALI…

Dr Malick Coulibaly, former Minister of Justice, Mali

“I think that Integrity Icon must have weighed in on my appointment as Minister of Justice and Human Rights of Mali in April 2019. Indeed, a few days after my appointment, the President of the Republic whispered in my ear:
‘The Accountability Lab trophy was great; I followed it with singular interest.’ This is a great honor and
a legitimate pride.”

LED INNOVATIVE COVID-19 VACCINE DRIVES…

Inoka Himali Rathnaweera, Divisional Secretary, Four-Gravets, Sri Lanka

“The COVID19 vaccination program in Sri Lanka kicked off in Colombo and was plagued by long queues, inordinate delays and other issues. Rathnaweera anticipated similar issues in her division and so worked proactively on a streamlined digitized vaccination plan. Her vaccination drive received public and media praise as there were no winding queues, no miscommunications and no rush. In the first few weeks, over 12,500 people in six Grama Niladhari divisions were vaccinated.”

AND DRIVEN EFFORTS TO RECONSTRUCT INFRASTRUCTURE AND COMMUNITIES AFTER NATURAL DISASTERS

Jabnely Maldonado, Head of the Commission for the Reconstruction of Mexico City

“The idea for me to participate in the Integrity Icon campaign came from the families affected by the earthquake disaster. After the departure of the previous Commissioner, I was fortunate enough that the Head of Government gave me the assignment of being the new Head of the Commission for Reconstruction. It’s great recognition for the work I do and a commitment and responsibility to fulfil to the people who were affected by the earthquake.”

A lack of integrity – which leads to corruption, inequality and insecurity – is a global challenge. Ordinary citizens often feel helpless in the face of graft and mismanagement. There is a need to encourage champions of integrity, which builds public trust. Integrity Icon inspires a new generation of responsible leaders and supports the winners to help build coalitions to push for further reform and value-based decision-making over time.
